Today we had our first dress rehearsal.
We got to put on our costumes. We looked a little bit fancy.
It was exciting being under the lights. The Rangi and Papa group glowed!!!!!
We can't wait for everyone to come and watch us on Friday and Tuesday night.
Welcome to our studio blog. We are 70 Year 1 and 2 ACTIVE Halswell kids who enjoy sharing our learning. We hope you enjoy our posts and we would love you to leave a comment.

We are Scientists:
We explored what would happen when you put citric acid, baking soda and water in a bag.
We got a big surprise when the bag filled up with air and the water went really cold.

Celebrating Matariki
This week we have been celebrating Matariki.
We have planted new vege plats in our garden.
These are snap peas. We can't wait for these to grow so we can try them!
On Wednesday we all brought along some vegetables to make a big pot of vegetable soup. We have our Matariki feast on Thursday afternoon!

Our special visitor 'Manny'- a NASA pilot!
Today we had a very special visit from a NASA Pilot called Manny. He is based in Christchurch at the moment. He is flying a plane called 'Sofia' that has a large telescope in the back. He works with a team of scientist and they take photos using the telescope of stars and planets. They fly at night so that they can see the stars. They are based in New Zealand at the moment because it is dark for longer and we have colder nights. Manny was very interesting to listen to and he answered lots of our questions.
