T12's Superhero Cow Description

Today we learnt about describing words.

We worked with a buddy to help each other write sentences with describing words.

We use describing words because so we know more about the story. It helps us make a picture in our head.

Descriptive Writing - T12

T12 have been learning about making their writing more exciting. We have been practising using describing words.

We worked with Mrs Hooper to write clear clues to describe an animal.

Each clue had to have a describing word in it.

We published our clues and they are on the studio wall for you to come in and try to guess the animals we are describing.

Orana Park Thursday 11 May

Today we spent at awesome day at Orana Park learning about the habitats of different animals. Even though it rained a bit in the middle of the day we still had lots fun.  We saw so many wonderful animals! One of the highlights for T11 was getting to feed Harriet the Giraffe. Here are some photos of our day.

We were so lucky to see the Whio ducks!

This is where we get our studio name from- The native blue duck 'Whio'

Here we all are looking for the cheeky Kea. They were hiding up high.

At the Lions we leant that even big cats like boxes!

Lizards and Geckos

The cheetahs had very cool spots!

We saw that Palm oil is a big problem for animals as their habitats are being destroyed. This was a simple message.

It was wonderful to be able to sit and watch the 3 Gorillas.

 How big are your hands?

We loved these little guys- So alert!

We couldn't believe how big and spiky the porcupine was!
